Appointments From The Comfort of Your Home

We are excited to announce that Guardian Angel Veterinary Care will be offering Virtual Visits to our current clients as another method of examination, diagnosis and treatment. What this entails is a two way video call or chat with a veterinarian at specified appointment times. As long as you have Internet and a PC or phone (Android/iOS), the process is relatively easy and instructions are provided when you book your Virtual Visit.

Examples of How Virtual Visits Can Be Helpful

Coughing: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian may recommend empirical medication. They may also recommend going to an emergency clinic or scheduling chest radiographs at Guardian Angel Veterinary Care.

Dental conditions: An estimate can be provided.  Medication can be prescribed to help with infection or pain.  However, additional examination in person +/- diagnostics would be required prior to scheduling a dental cleaning.

Lumps or masses: An estimate can be provided and sometimes a likely diagnosis may be made. Medication can be prescribed to help with infection or pain.  However, additional examination in person +/- diagnostics would be required prior to scheduling a surgery.

Lacerations or abscesses: An estimate can be provided if surgery is recommended.  However, additional examination in person +/- diagnostics would be required prior to scheduling a surgery.  If surgery is not recommended, the veterinarian can provide guidance on treatment options and prescribe medications to assist with pain and infection.

Lameness or limping: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian may provide treatment recommendations and prescribe medications to help with pain.  However, if sedated radiographs are recommended, then an in-person examination will be required.

Ocular signs: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian may provide treatment recommendations and prescribe medication.  However, additional diagnostics might be recommended, as well as an in-person examination at the clinic to perform additional testing.

Surgery recheck: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian can assess surgery site healing and recovery.

Urinary signs: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian may provide treatment recommendations and prescribe medication.  However, additional diagnostics might be recommended- urinalysis, urine culture, radiographs- that will require a technician appointment at Guardian Angel Veterinary Care

Vomiting or diarrhea: Based off history and signs, a veterinarian may provide treatment recommendation and prescribe medication.  Depending on the severity, additional treatment or diagnostics might be necessary.

Worms: A veterinarian can often-times make a diagnosis with a picture and prescribe medication.  They might also recommend a stool sample be brought into Guardian Angel Veterinary Care.

Conditions that might not be easily assessed with a “Virtual Visit”: Diabetes, Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, Kidney Disease

With most all virtual visits, if improvement is not seen or symptoms worsen, then an in-person appointment is recommended.
